Our Antiquarian works
Before we moved to Orkney and began a physical store, we were already trading as online book dealers and have become an established purveyor of rare and important works ranging from the Natural History of the 16th Century, to the literary classics of M R James.
As these items are not on display in the shop, you can find our store listings for them on both Biblio.com, and ABE.co.uk. But below is a sample of some of what you can find on our digital store fronts.
The works of Jane Austen:
A woman whose works are known the world over, her books have been beautifully illustrated throughout the years, and we have been lucky enough to have seen several renditions of her famous scenes.
The Golden age of Illustration:
While it may not be easy to envisage it now, not too long ago one of the most prised holiday presents would be illustrated fairy tales and folk stories. It was such a recent time, in fact, that many early animated Disney films employed famous illustrators to bring their most vivid scenes to life. Such artists include Kay Nielson with his vivid and striking designs, and Arthur Rakham with his haunting grotesques.
Natural History:
And where it all began, with natural history. Even hundreds of years later, many texts can be just as true and useful as they were when they were printed.
